I did this study so I could participate in the follow-up studies. Yet, as soon as the second wave appeared, it was full. In any other instance, I might be annoyed because I couldn't get into a study. But the second wave said: Thank you for completing Wave 1 of this study 7-10 days ago. This is the second of two studies. Why include multiple waves and then not include enough spots for participants who completed Wave 1 to continue? That is a very poor design decision. I don't know about others, but to me a major benefit to getting into longitudinal studies is consistent income. Also, bonuses. If you allow me in on wave one and then effectively prevent me from continuing because you don't include enough spaces, then there's no point in engaging with you as a researcher.
