Yes, precisely the same happened to me. I think it was perhaps set up this way; very good payment to entice people, married to a time limit that was impossible to meet... I too was beset by incredibly slow download times (despite having very good interenet at home), and I muscled my my through it only to find I had timed out. S M being a rando name and all, I should have known better. I have contacted the "researcher" but I suspect they've got what they wanted from everyone for gratis. Be warned, folks. Be warned.

I came here to check if anyone else ran into a similar problem. I completed all 20 pairings, but it took me 8 1/2 minutes (maximum time is 8 minutes), so I was not able to submit the completion code because I timed out. I have the completion code, and I took a screenshot of the completion page which lists my prolific email (I'm glad I used that one instead of a personal email!). I also had several audios that took longer than normal to load (sometimes over 30 seconds), and I noted this with each pair. I failed to complete this on time because of technical glitches within the study. I don't think I should miss payment for this. Has anyone ever done a study with this researcher? Is he/she good at responding to messages? I hope to come back and update my ranking because I enjoyed the work.
The study estimates 1 minute to listen to 20 audio samples, vote on which is best, and then note any issues with the audio. However, the audio fails to load within an acceptable time frame. I couldn't get through the first 4 rounds before the study timed out. I messaged the researcher, so we'll see what happens.
