I completed the study in its entirety, noted all the attention checks, and clicked the specified option. A few hours later, I received a message stating that my participation was invalid because I had allegedly not answered the attention checks correctly, and that I now had 24 hours to withdraw from the study to avoid rejection. I replied that this couldn’t be right and asked if there might have been a mix-up. I haven’t received a response since then. I also wrote to Prolific, but haven’t received a reply to this day. I completed the study on June 25, 2026, and as of today (June 29), it is still marked as “Awaiting Review” on Prolific. Update July 1, 2026: Today I received a message, but it didn't address my response and just told me again that I supposedly didn't complete the attention checks correctly and that I have 24 hours to withdraw my application, otherwise they would reject me. I've contacted Prolific again and hope the support will get back to me.
Update July 2, 2026: Researcher rejected me today and I've opened a ticket.
