Just for the record, I have begun an attempt at a more structured approach to rating studies, so if you will bear with me. This study took me just under 50 minutes when it was estimated to take 30 minutes. However, I want to add context to this: before I started the study, the average time taken was around 28 minutes. Additionally, due to my own issues I have had a hard time focusing, and so I could tell I was working very slowly. Likely I'm just an outlier in this case. Attention checks were all clear and fair. The instructions were clear, though I did struggle answering some questions due to them being a bit odd and uncomfortable (e.g. asking if I think my sibling is smarter than me) or too black and white (e.g. would you prefer going to a party or a library). I also found it difficult to answer the parts where it asked how often I contact my sibling via phone/email/etc. vs how often I would like to contact them via those methods-- we live in the same household, so I don't really care to contact them in ways other than in person unless necessary. A completion code was provided at the end, and my submission was approved in under 15 minutes. After all is said and done, the pay rate in my case was still a good bit above the bare minimum, and for anyone who did take around the estimated time, the pay rate is quite good.
