Not the best studies, fairly low pay, get repetitive and sometimes takes a while to approve, but you can do a lot of them. Never had an issue with them getting approved though and once you figure out how they flow and can get through the instructions quick the pay is not the worst I've seen.
Fraudulent researcher. Not only does this scamming pipsqueak underpay you- NEVER do $9/hr surveys that last 15 minutes- That takes up 15 minutes of your time being underpaid where instead you could be doing surveys that either pay better or surveys that are varied between lower pay (8/9 an hour is the low end/minimum wage pay) and higher pay-- Anyway, but also, his videos never work on my phone which is new, he floods the platform with the exact same survey instead of stacking multiples in the same block (and is the only researcher to do this) . Super rude. Also just scammed with his new desktop version which is designed to have no auto-completion or time tracker to prompt you to complete the survey, so you wind up just timing out on the platform. I contacted him, he was rude and did not compensate me. As an aside I've done over 1500 surveys on Prolific with ZERO rejections so the problem is not me here. I do time out on occasion however. And I have similar numbers on my other platforms and make good money outside this at my other business so this wasn't much but 20 minutes of time is a lot for me. (I only accepted the 15minute one knowing it was $9/hr out of curiosity to see if these would be fun to do on occasion and I like to get an idea of all the surveys available to me.) We're not all 21yo lazy Zoomers working part time at Costco and living in mom's basement, some of us have limited time, family responsibilities, businesses, volunteer and so on, so setting up tens of overly fastidious, demanding requirements for mobile phones and fraudulently setting up 20 minute long surveys without a completion mechanism on a legitimate platform like Prolific is truly immoral.
Studies get longer and the pay gets lower. I'll consider doing their studies when they start respecting participants.
I just made a comment below which I will copypasta here- "I contacted researcher to complain about the desktop pilot and he told me he was doing this.. He said he was raising it to 20 minutes because I let it go on for 20 minutes before I realized there was no time or completion trigger embedded in the study- it went on indefinitely. He knows what he is doing. truly reprehensible, with everything going on in the West with rising inflation and COL particularly awful. Most people I know are working two jobs or extending their hours and still not saving much money.
Completed on mobile and it does get pretty repetitive but it's simple enough! I got approved by the next day. Reward is also lower than before as others have mentioned.
Straight forward mobile only study, slightly repetitive within the study, approves within 2-20 days for me.
This study's pay reduced from 3 usd to 2.4 usd (~9 usd per hour) in just two weeks. Also waits till 3 weeks to pay.
Now the pay is 2.1 USD! Unbelievable that people still compete to do this study!!
Never underestimate how pathetic and lazy some workers are, how much they don't care about standing up for themselves or their interests. Nihilism is a thing right now, it's "cool" to be masochistic and hate yourself now apparently. I received a message from this researcher after contacting Prolific. He told me he was going to drop the pay, instead of compensating me for his fraudulent "pilot" study!!!! Shocking. Almost immediately I noticed his surveys all disappear at once. Let him go back to mturk or one of those abusive platforms that lacks the complex quality control and in-depth participant vetting and scientifically proven features for researchers that Prolific has.
