Horrible audio test to check your headphones. Scared the crap out of me. Also, was screened out after going through the grueling process of checking my headphones. Compensated for screen out.

Seems like this researcher is also 'Tara Venkatesan' ? Fairly long study, you listen to relaxing music for 25 minutes straight (the same audio track). I would describe it as meditative.
Really awful study, it wanted me to listen to really loud static sounds and listen for a quiet beep between them and figure out which pause the beep was in. This would require me to listen to them with my headphones on maximum volume, which would hurt my ears. Returned the study, it wasn't worth it.
Maybe it's a difference in speakers or how sensitive our ears are but I didn't have to listen loudly to hear the beeps. Other studies use the same audio as a speaker check, for instance the speech quality preference studies
