I took this entire study right before Prolific went down and submitted it. There are 19 minutes allocated for it but it is advertised as a 5 minute study. I was barely able to finish it in the allocated time and have never experienced such a large discrepancy between advertised and actual time. Once it was submitted, it said I was timed out, despite the survey submitting fully with about 30 seconds to spare. They need to adjust the compensation, allocated time and expected time. I feel as if they snatched the data for free. Additionally, after I messaged them about this they updated the compensation from .90 to 2.67 but did not adjust the allocated time or estimated completion time. Feels very deceitful and unethical. Would never again do a study from them unless this is fully amended.
