Fast approval took time to complete to study than expected

it was supposed to be 19 minutes and it ended up being 27 minutes

It took 40 minutes when it was supposed to be 30 minutes.

And yet another waste of time with Merlin AI. This time on mobile. I passed the screeners and began the interview, only to be repeatedly told that it couldn't detect audio. I tested the audio during the interview, and it was working perfectly. Recording without issue. The more I work with Merlin AI, the more I am considering not working with Merlin AI. All of this wasted time adds up.

Passed all the screener questions for this one, and when it said I was ready for the interview, it didn't screen me out. The interview was very involved, but the AI responded well to my questions and concerns. This is especially important when a question is confusing.

Quite an okay study as a whole, but I can't rate it higher than 3 stars because I kinda got screened out and paid like $0.50 for that.

Regular screenouts are fine, but once again, I have been told I qualify for the interview, and then I am suddenly told I am screened out. Don't tell me I qualify and then tell me I don't. I get it. I really do. A researcher wants people who meet their research criteria, but what I don't get about some of these Merlin AI interviews is asking me question after question, telling me I have qualified and that our interview is about to start, and then telling me I have been screened out. And $0.50 doesn't cut it. Oh, $0.50 sounds great when they screen you out with the first or second question, but after telling you that you qualified? After answering loads of questions? No, it doesn't cut it because I am spending all that time answering those questions for 50 cents, while missing out on other studies that I could have taken that paid the same ($10+) or more. Even though this doesn't happen every time, it happens often enough.

This study was described as a 20 minute AI interview. It gave extremely long winded "scenarios" and asked questions alongside them. Instead of a 20 minute interview, it turned into an hour and 20 minute interview.

Keeps screening me out during the video quality portion of the screener. I have excellent video (great camera, lighting, etc.) and have no idea if the issue is in the questions (it says I qualify) or some weird peculiarity with how it's reading my set-up. The few surveys I've gotten to do were fine and decently-compensated.

Merlin have become my current favourite Reseracher on Prolific - Pay is better than even the "good' generalist AI studies, their estimated durations is realistic and if anything underestiimated. The AI chat bot loaded quickly and it runs perfectly on my iPad Pro, my other half's Macbook Pro M5 and my ancient 2015 intel Macbook Pro. Paid almost instantly, no hidden writing tasks, or any other shenanigans at the end, just a proper rediect back to Prolific. A good experience overall.
