Alerts, ratings, and a timer for your Prolific studies

Turn on study alerts and you get a desktop notification, with an optional sound, when a new study appears. Studies that come back after being gone also trigger an alert, after a cooldown you choose.

Filter by minimum reward, pay per hour, available places, and keywords, so you only hear about studies worth taking. The extension never accepts or completes studies for you.

Connect Telegram by scanning a QR code in the extension. The same filtered alerts then reach your phone while Chrome and a Prolific tab are running. Setup takes about a minute, and you can disconnect anytime.

Alerts come from your computer, so none arrive while it is asleep. Telegram is optional and linked only to your Prolific Tea account. We never see your Prolific ID, name, or password.

The extension reads the study lists your browser already loads. It shows the matching Prolific Tea rating in its panel, so you can check a researcher before you start. Open a study to go to that researcher's Prolific Tea profile.

It never changes the Prolific page, never logs in to Prolific, and makes no requests to Prolific on its own.

Use the sidebar to keep Prolific Tea in view. Use the popup when a study needs the full browser width, because it floats over the page instead of shrinking it. The sidebar is the default; open Settings and choose Popup if you prefer it.

On current Chrome and Edge versions, a button in every view switches modes at once, and the timer keeps running. Older versions save your choice and ask you to close and reopen once. Browsers without a sidebar stay popup-only.

Prolific locks you in once you accept a study, so it helps to track how long it takes. Start, pause, and resume the timer with one tap. A small dot on the toolbar icon shows it is running, even when the panel is closed.

When you stop, it shows the minutes you spent, ready to copy into your review. The timer runs only on your device and sends nothing anywhere.

Sharing is never automatic. Captured studies are uploaded only when you press Share on a specific study.

When you do, it asks about each name on that study: is this the name of a person? Answer Yes, a person and that name is removed before the request leaves your browser. Answer No, an organisation or lab and the name is sent. Nothing is pre-selected, and Share stays disabled until every name is answered. The study title, reward and timing, country, Prolific account IDs, and the institution's name, logo, and link are sent, and a domain name shown as a name is sent too. Expand See exactly what is sent to read the data first.

Sharing is per study and per name, because one study list can mix universities, companies, labs, and people. Answer for the study in front of you, or share nothing. Ratings, alerts, and the timer work either way.

Sharing is switched off right now. Prolific Tea is not accepting shared studies, and the extension says so rather than pretending to send. Everything else works.

It reads only the Prolific study data your browser already loads: your available study list and your submission history.

It keeps only the title, researcher and study IDs, reward, estimated and actual time, and outcome. It discards the study description and every other field. It stays on your device unless you share a study or a Telegram alert sends a study's details.

• Your name, email, or any personal identifier.
• Your Prolific participant ID: it is never read, stored, or transmitted.
• Your Prolific password or session: the extension never signs in for you.
• Anything from pages outside Prolific.
